How to Clean a Mattress If You Have a Bedwetter
A bedwetting incident is not uncommon in a household with young children. Such accidents might even happen often and the unfortunate thing is when it stains on your mattress. Knowing how to clean a mattress stained with bedwetting is a completely different task from regular mattress cleaning.
Your knowledge of how to clean a mattress after a bedwetting incident is vital in preserving your items at home to ensure they will endure for a long time. By doing so, you can also eliminate the odor and bacteria that are present in the mattress.
As soon as your mattress is stained with urine, allow the spot to dry off first. You can use a paper towel or absorbent dish towel to blot that specific area of stain. Use a baking soda to sprinkle all over the stained area. You can appropriate the amount of baking soda to apply depending on the size of the stained area. However, you need to make sure that it is completely covered.
Wait for approximately 10 to 15 minutes or until the baking soda has completely absorbed into the spot. Then, remove the baking soda from your mattress using a vacuum cleaner. Make sure that you have completely removed the baking soda from the mattress.
Go back to the first procedure and repeat the entire process. Do this as often as desired or until the odor is completely gone.
There is another alternative on how to clean a mattress. You can also use white vinegar to spray into the stained portion of your mattress. Then, find a spot outside your house where you can place the mattress and wait for it to dry.
